It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Just some random shots from the day we began working on the tree...

We get a live one each year, although I think we'll be investing in a pre-lit fake one for next year.  Too much sniffling going on when the tree comes in.

950 lights later...

The kids still love finding their old ornaments and hanging them ~ I'm so glad!  We don't have a theme tree, just one with tons of meaning.  We always, always listen to Johnny Mathis and drink our first sips of eggnog when the tree trimming begins (and not a minute before!)

[Although, SOMEone with the initials of E-Man cheated and snuck some egg nog a couple of days before Mem got home...]

The male models got gave us great photo-ops...

It's coming together!

And we add townspeople to the stable scene to remind us that we, like they, are far too busy to notice that Jesus has come!  We need to slow down, to take time each day to stop and thank Him, to worship Him, to wonder like the shepherds did when they finally laid eyes on their Creator.

I hope you've been able to find times today to stop and consider what God has done for you in sending His one and only Son.  Or you could just stop right now...
